Description

Ingredients

2 slices dense wholegrain bread (seeded bread recommended)
1 medium beefsteak tomato, ripe
1½ teaspoons mayonnaise
Kosher salt, to taste
Coarsely ground black pepper, to taste


Instructions

Toast the bread slices to your preferred level; crispy is recommended for texture. Let them cool slightly to prevent sogginess.
Core and slice the tomato into thin rounds (1/8-inch thick) for even layering.
Spread 1½ teaspoons of mayonnaise on one side of each toast slice.
Layer the tomato slices generously on one bread half, ensuring even distribution.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper to enhance the tomato’s natural sweetness.
Place the second bread slice on top to complete the sandwich.
