Ingredients
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
2 tsp vanilla extract
5 tbsp butter, softened
8 oz cream cheese, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, etc.)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
Whisk flour, baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar until combined
Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract
Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet mixture to form thick dough
Scoop dough balls (1½ tablespoons each) onto parchment-lined baking sheets
Flatten each dough ball into disk shapes
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden
Let cool completely
Mix softened butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract for frosting
Apply frosting to cooled cookies
Top with fresh fruit slices, gently pressing into the frosting
Notes
Use parchment paper to prevent sticking
Add fruit immediately before serving for crispness
Store in refrigerator for up to 24 hours
