It is a nutrient-dense, high-protein solution for busy weeknights that requires minimal cleanup and uses fresh, healthy aromatics for a truly elevated culinary experience.

Ingredients

1 lb Flank steak, thinly sliced
1 lb Broccoli florets
2 tbsp Olive oil
1 tbsp Sesame oil
1/2 cup Soy sauce
1/2 cup Beef stock
1 tbsp Brown sugar
1 tbsp Cornstarch
1 tbsp Fresh ginger, grated
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1/2 tsp Black pepper

Instructions

Prepare the steak by slicing it thinly against the grain into bite-sized strips.
Whisk together soy sauce, beef stock, brown sugar, cornstarch, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, and black pepper in a small bowl until smooth.
Heat one tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add broccoli florets and cook for 4-5 minutes until crisp-tender; remove from skillet and set aside.
Add remaining olive oil to the hot skillet and sear the steak strips in a single layer until browned on all sides.
Return the broccoli to the skillet and pour the prepared sauce over the mixture.
Toss constantly for 1-2 minutes until the sauce bubbles and thickens to coat the ingredients evenly.
Serve hot, ideally over steamed rice.

Notes

Ensure your skillet is very hot before adding the beef to achieve a proper sear. Always slice the steak against the grain to ensure the meat stays tender. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a tablespoon of water or beef stock to reach your desired consistency.
