Notes
Use ripe peaches: Hard, underripe fruit won’t give you the sweet flavor you need.
Don’t skip the syrup: Simmering extracts flavors you can’t get by just muddling fresh peaches.
Fresh lemon juice: Bottled juice tastes flat. Fresh-squeezed makes a huge difference.
Filtered water: Use filtered or bottled water for best flavor.
Adjust sweetness: Peach sweetness varies. Taste and add more honey or water as needed.
Storage: Keeps up to 5 days refrigerated. Stir before serving as syrup settles.
Frozen peaches: Work when fresh aren’t available, though flavor won’t be as sweet.
Make popsicles: Pour into popsicle molds for easy frozen treats.
Adult version: Add shot of vodka or bourbon to each glass for cocktails.
