Description

A quick and sweet dessert combining drained peaches, a buttery cake-mix topping, and warm spices. Perfect for summer gatherings or last-minute cravings.

Ingredients

2 cans (15 oz each) sliced peaches (drain one, keep syrup in the other)
1 box yellow cake mix
½ cup (1 stick) butter, melted
1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×9 or 9×13-inch baking dish
Add the peaches to the dish. If using canned peaches, drain one can and keep the syrup from the other
(Misc. step) If using optional ingredients, sprinkle cinnamon or add vanilla extract and gently mix into the peaches
Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix over the peaches. Do NOT stir
Slowly drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much surface as possible
Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly
Remove from the oven and let cool for 10–15 minutes before serving

Notes

For fresh peaches, use 4–5 medium peaches instead of canned
Adding a pinch of nutmeg or nutmeg (non-alcoholic vanilla) can enhance warmth
Serve with a scoop of non-dairy vanilla ice cream if desired
Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days
