Ingredients
½ cup sour cream
⅓ cup mayonnaise
1 tbsp sugar
2 tsp white vinegar
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
24 oz frozen peas (thawed & well drained)
⅓ cup turkey bacon (crumbled, ~10 slices)
⅓ cup red onion (diced)
½ cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
Instructions
Make the dressing: In a bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
Combine salad ingredients: In a large bowl, add peas, turkey bacon, red onion, and cheddar cheese.
Mix together: Pour dressing over the salad and stir until everything is well coated.
Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) for best flavor.
Serve: Stir, adjust seasoning if needed, and serve cold.
Notes
For best results, chill the dressing separately before mixing into the salad.
Substitute peas with fresh or canned (drained) peas if preferred.
Use pre-cooked turkey bacon to save time.
Replace cheddar cheese with another melting cheese like gouda or mozzarella if desired.
