Ingredients
1 lb flank or skirt steak
1 tablespoon olive oil
Juice of 1 lime
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
Salt and pepper to taste
8 tostada shells
1 cup refried beans, warmed
1/2 cup crumbled queso fresco
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 cup pico de gallo
1/2 cup sour cream or Mexican crema
1 avocado, mashed or sliced
Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
Instructions
Mix olive oil, lime juice, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl to create the marinade
Marinate the steak for at least 30 minutes
Grill or skillet-sear the steak until fully cooked, then slice into thin strips
Warm tostada shells lightly if desired
Layer refried beans on each tostada
Top with grilled steak slices, queso fresco, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream or crema, and avocado
Garnish with cilantro if using
