Description

These Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Stacks deliver a flaky, golden crust with a savory ham and melted cheese filling. They bake quickly and work perfectly for snacks, appetizers, or light meals.

Ingredients

1 package (17.3 oz) frozen puff pastry (2 sheets), thawed

8 slices ham (thinly sliced)

8 slices cheese (Swiss, cheddar, or preferred)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface.

3. Cut each sheet into 4×4 inch squares to make about 16 squares.

4. Place ham and cheese on half of the squares.

5. Top with remaining squares and press edges to seal.

6. Brush the tops with beaten egg.

7. Place stacks on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

8. Bake for 15–20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.

9. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Do not overfill to prevent bursting.

Seal edges firmly or crimp with a fork.

Keep puff pastry cold before baking.

Add herbs like thyme or rosemary for extra flavor.

Freeze assembled stacks and bake from frozen with extra time.
